Lama Padma Norbu was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado. He met Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, his root teacher, in 1980 and in December 1981, he married Tsering, later Lama Tsering Everest.
After completing the cycle of Dzogchen teachings and retreats, was ordained a lama in the Vajrayana tradition in 1996. For more than twenty years he served Chagdud Rinpoche in many capacities, including treasurer and manager of several major construction projects, including the temples at Khadro Ling and Odsal Ling. He completed two years of solitary retreat under Rinpoche’s guidance.
Lama Norbu’s teachings focus on integrating Buddhist principles with the challenges of daily life. A wonderful story teller, he is deeply engaged in the ethical education of sangha children and children participating in Chagdud Gonpa’s social project, Sitio Esperança.
